One of my fondest memories as a little girl was playing with my Petite Princess dollhouse furniture. Everyday after school, my girlfriend and I would set up our exquisitely-decorated rooms and dream of what it would be like to live in this wonderful house "fit for a princess!"
I was fortunate enough to have a grandmother who could afford to buy me this unique and often expensive furniture, with some pieces costing as much as 79 cents! Every Christmas, my birthday, and on other special occasions, I looked forward to a visit from my grandmother and adding new pieces to my dollhouse collection.
Forty years later, I still have her gifts. And although she is gone, memories of her visits and the excitement of receiving another Petite Princess piece for my dollhouse lives on. Today, I feel it necessary to share this same excitement with grandmothers, moms, and little girls everywhere. After all, what is the harm in feeling like a real princess?
The Ideal Toy Company - the same who introduced the very first Teddy Bear in 1903 - sold this unique 3/4" scale hand-tailored, hand-painted, upholstered plastic furniture from 1964 to 1968. It ceased production when the general public believed the individual pieces too expensive. Today, Woolworth's, Kresge's, and the Mayfair "five & dime" stores who sold the furniture are long gone, but a new generation of dollhouse collectors and children are re-discovering the "Petite Princess Fantasy World."
I know that you will want to take some of these unique furniture items home with you. So, drop me a line at linda@petiteprincess.com. I have numerous pieces in stock. After all... don't you have a little princess at home who would like to feel a little special, too?
Enjoy Life as a Princess!
